Underfloor Heating from Graham

Under flooring heating is an affordable, energy-efficient heating solution for properties of all sizes. Radiant heat works by heating up the room from systems that run under the floor, turning it into a radiator. This means the room is heated without any cold spots or stuffiness and also reduces the amount of heat wastage that you get with traditional radiators. This keeps running costs and your carbon footprint low, as underfloor heating doesn’t need to run as hot as regular heating systems. At Graham, we offer both electric and wet under floor heating systems to suit your project, as well as thermostatic and smart controls for ease of access. We recommend electric underfloor heating for singular rooms, and wet underfloor heating systems for whole houses/properties. Read more below to find out the benefits of each.

Electric underfloor heating

Electric based underfloor heating systems work by installing electric heating wires or mats that are connected to the mains electricity supply. Due to their easy installation, they make the perfect solution for upper floors as well as ground level rooms. They’re cheaper to install than water-based systems but they can be more expensive to run on a larger scale, which is why we recommend them for singular rooms. You can also purchase our Electric Underfloor Heating Packs, which include everything you need to install your underfloor heating. Benefits include:

  • Quick and easy installation
  • Cheaper initial costs
  • Can be installed into existing rooms with minimal disruption
  • Ideal for smaller rooms e.g. kitchens and bathrooms
  • Minimal floor height increase (around 3mm)
  • Choose wattage output

Wet underfloor heating

Wet underfloor heating (or water underfloor heating) works by installing water pipes under the floor to heat the property. They’re best for new builds as the installation is easier than on existing properties. The system connects to your existing heat source so is energy-efficient to run over time. Benefits include:

  • Great for new-builds and larger projects
  • Low long-term running costs
  • Work well alongside heat pumps
  • Heats the property quicker
  • Works with different types of flooring
